Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions of use of the mobile application MailMail (the "Service") provided by solo developer Seunggap Choi (the "Operator"), and the rights and obligations between the Operator and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- Service: the MailMail app running on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, and all incidental features.
- User: a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
- Pro (paid): the usage state in which the paid features of Article 6 have been purchased.
- Mail provider: an external mail service the user connects, such as Naver, Daum/Kakao, Gmail, Outlook, or generic IMAP.
Article 3 (Effect and amendment of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect upon posting in the app or at this URL.
- The Operator may amend these Terms within the bounds of applicable law and will announce the effective date and content at least 7 days in advance (at least 30 days for changes unfavorable to users), in the app or on this page. If a user disagrees with a change, they may discontinue use and cancel their subscription before the stated effective date.
Article 4 (Content of the Service)
- The Service fetches mail from the mail providers a user connects and, using on-device AI (Apple's on-device model), summarizes it so it can be quickly reviewed and handled (read/archive, etc.) on Apple Watch.
- The handling of mail bodies and credentials follows the Privacy Policy.
- The Service provides reading summary cards, triage (read/archive), inbox search, and one-tap sending of AI-suggested quick replies. It does not provide free-form composing, viewing attachments, folder or label management, or deleting mail (trash) in v1 (intended scope — watch inbox positioning). These may be expanded in future versions.
- Sending quick replies: a reply is sent only when the user picks a suggested message and taps once, through the user's own mail account (SMTP or Microsoft Graph). The user is responsible for what is sent and its consequences; the Operator is not a sending agent.
Article 5 (User obligations)
- Users must connect only mail accounts they are lawfully authorized to use.
- Users must comply with their mail provider's terms (for example, conditions for using app passwords).
- Users must not:
- reverse-engineer, copy without authorization, or resell the Service;
- place abnormal load on or attempt to compromise the Service or its integrated servers;
- connect to or access another person's account or information without authorization.
Article 6 (Plans and payment)
1. Plans (prices below are based on the Korea App Store and may include VAT; local prices vary by region and are shown at checkout):
| Plan | Price (KRW) | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Free Forever | Free | 50 summaries/day / 1 account / no ads |
| Pro Monthly | ₩3,900 / mo | Unlimited summaries, multiple accounts, to-dos → Reminders, etc. |
| Pro Annual | ₩29,000 / yr | About 38% off vs. Monthly (7-day free trial) |
| Launch Lifetime | ₩49,000 (one-time) | Lifetime use, limited to the first 1,000 at launch |
| Regular Lifetime | ₩89,000 (one-time) | Lifetime use after the Launch cap is reached |
- Payment: all payments are made through the Apple App Store (StoreKit) and billed to the user's Apple Account. The Operator does not access payment-method information.
- Free trial and auto-renewal: the 7-day free trial is available on the Pro Annual plan only. Unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends or before each subscription period ends, it renews and is charged automatically. Renewal, cancellation, and management are available in the device's App Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect from the next billing cycle; access continues until the end of the period already paid for (no mid-term pro-rata refund). Not available in the EU/EEA at this time.
- Refunds: refunds follow Apple's refund policy and are requested through Apple (App Store). The Operator does not provide separate refunds outside of Apple. (Refund policy)
- Launch Lifetime limited quantity: the first-1,000 cap is administered operationally by the Operator and converts to Regular Lifetime once the cap is reached.
Article 7 (Intellectual property)
Rights to the Service and its components (software, design, the trademark "MailMail") belong to the Operator. Rights to the mail data a user connects belong to that user.
Article 8 (Notice regarding AI summaries — important)
- The Service's summaries, to-do extraction, and priority judgments are generated automatically by AI and are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete.
- Summaries are for reference; for important decisions involving money, law, or scheduling, always check the original mail. The Operator is not liable (except for its intent or gross negligence) for damages arising from reliance on AI summaries alone.
Article 9 (Changes and suspension of the Service)
- The Operator may change or suspend all or part of the Service and will give advance notice of material changes.
- Connection limits caused by a mail provider's policy changes (for example, IMAP/OAuth policies) may be beyond the Operator's responsibility.
Article 10 (Disclaimer and limitation of liability)
- The Operator is not liable for damages caused by force majeure, outages of third-party services such as mail providers, Apple, or carriers, or problems with the user's device. This does not apply to damages caused by the Operator's intent or gross negligence.
- The Service is provided "as-is," and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, express and implied warranties are disclaimed.
- The Operator's liability is limited to the extent provided by applicable law.
Article 11 (Termination)
A user may end use at any time by deleting the app. Subscription cancellation must be done separately in the App Store subscription settings (deleting the app alone does not cancel a subscription).
Article 12 (Governing law and dispute resolution)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes relating to use of the Service are subject to the first-instance jurisdiction of Suwon District Court, Seongnam Branch.
