Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions of use of the mobile application MailMail (the "Service") provided by solo developer operator name — TBD (the "Operator"), and the rights and obligations between the Operator and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- Service: the MailMail app running on iPhone and Apple Watch, and all incidental features.
- User: a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
- Pro (paid): the usage state in which the paid features of Article 6 have been purchased.
- Mail provider: an external mail service the user connects, such as Naver, Daum/Kakao, Gmail, Outlook, or generic IMAP.
Article 3 (Effect and amendment of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect upon posting in the app or at this URL.
- The Operator may amend these Terms within the bounds of applicable law and will announce the effective date and content in advance of changes. If a user disagrees with a change, they may discontinue use of the Service.
Article 4 (Content of the Service)
- The Service fetches mail from the mail providers a user connects and, using on-device AI (Apple's on-device model), summarizes it so it can be quickly reviewed and handled (read/archive, etc.) on Apple Watch.
- The handling of mail bodies and credentials follows the Privacy Policy.
- The Service does not provide composing, sending, searching, viewing attachments, or folder management in v1 (intended scope — watch inbox positioning). These may be expanded in future versions.
Article 5 (User obligations)
- Users must connect only mail accounts they are lawfully authorized to use.
- Users must comply with their mail provider's terms (for example, conditions for using app passwords).
- Users must not:
- reverse-engineer, copy without authorization, or resell the Service;
- place abnormal load on or attempt to compromise the Service or its integrated servers;
- connect to or access another person's account or information without authorization.

Article 7 (Intellectual property)
Rights to the Service and its components (software, design, the trademark "MailMail") belong to the Operator. Rights to the mail data a user connects belong to that user.
Article 8 (Notice regarding AI summaries — important)
- The Service's summaries, to-do extraction, and priority judgments are generated automatically by AI and are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete.
- Summaries are for reference; for important decisions involving money, law, or scheduling, always check the original mail. The Operator is not liable for damages arising from reliance on AI summaries alone.
Article 9 (Changes and suspension of the Service)
- The Operator may change or suspend all or part of the Service and will give advance notice of material changes.
- Connection limits caused by a mail provider's policy changes (for example, IMAP/OAuth policies) may be beyond the Operator's responsibility.
Article 10 (Disclaimer and limitation of liability)
- The Operator is not liable for damages caused by force majeure, outages of third-party services such as mail providers, Apple, or carriers, or problems with the user's device.
- The Service is provided "as-is," and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, express and implied warranties are disclaimed.
- The Operator's liability is limited to the extent provided by applicable law.
Article 11 (Termination)
A user may end use at any time by deleting the app. Subscription cancellation must be done separately in the App Store subscription settings (deleting the app alone does not cancel a subscription).
Article 12 (Governing law and dispute resolution)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes relating to use of the Service are subject to the first-instance jurisdiction of the competent court — TBD (e.g., Seoul Central District Court).
